Try the book "INDO-PACIFIC CORAL REEF FIELD GUIDE" by Dr. Gerald R. Allen & Roger Steene. I have a copy of the book and would really like to help identify some of your photos. The thing is, there are a lot of similar looking corals and I might mis-identify them. :-)

If it's any help, this one looks like something from the Faviidae family.

that'd be so great. i need an extra eye to confirm and argue with because my adviser just left for palau and won't be back soon. i envy you for having the book! i've been looking every bookstore in the philippines and they don't seem to have any coral references. you have to order them from the internet or outside! that'd be too expensive. i'm getting references from AIMS (australian institute of marine science). they got an online database for the whole population of corals in the world :D it's really interesting :D

try the dive shops. they just might have fish-indentification books that have sections on corals. :-)
